about flower

The majority of my formative years were spent in Japan as a missionary kid, being raised in an orphanage setting with many "cousins". This gave me great compassion for others, an understanding of the challenges of major life transitions as well as fluency in Japanese and knowledge of the culture of Japan. I am a mother who lost an adult son. I also have understanding of the "long goodbye", having a parent with Alzheimer's disease. I experience a deep spiritual faith, but you can be assured that spirituality will only be a part of counseling if it is your desire.

After raising three sons and several international students, I completed my education at Eastern Washington University with a masters degree in Social Work. I have been in group and private practice, working with couples, adults and adolescents. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, Gottman therapy, solution focused therapy and strengths based therapy, joining with my clients to clarify obstacles, discover alternative perspectives and strengths and learn coping skills.

I work with couples who may just need a tweak or those who are struggling with infidelity and conflict. Other areas in which I specialize are anxiety, depression and domestic violence. You may expect a 50 minute office visit at a usual charge of $70. I also offer a generous sliding fee scale. You're invited to call me at 503-780-7346, or email me at cmcleancounseling@gmail.com for further information or to set up an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you.
